Puppenspiele Open Air für Kinder
Bewerbungsfrist: 22. März bis 1. Mai 2026
Die Zielgruppe des Festivals sind Kinder!
Aufgeführt werden daher professionelle Puppentheaterspiele, die speziell für Kinder / Familien produziert wurden.
Die Aufführungen erfolgen vormittags um 11:00 Uhr. Es werden nur Theaterproduktionen eingeladen, die bereits erfolgreich als Freilichtaufführungen gezeigt wurden.
Thema 2026 - Welterkundung
Zur Teilnahme am PuppenSpielSommer suchen wir Produktonen, die sich mit dem Thema Welterkundung beschäftigen.
Das können einerseits Reisegeschichten sein. Aber auch kann z.B. der Gedanke von J.W. v.Goethe "Ich kehre in mich selbst zurück, und finde eine Welt!" Ausgangspunkt einer Welterkundung sein.
Wir bitten die Gruppen, uns kurz zu erklären, warum Ihre eingereichte Produktion zum Thema "Welterkundung" passt.

Open air puppet shows for children
Application period: March 22 to Mai 1, 2026
Children are the target group of the festival!
Therefore, only professional puppet shows that were produced specifically for children / families are performed.
The performances take place in the morning at 11:00 a.m. Only theatre productions that have already been successfully shown as open-air performances will be invited.
Motto 2026 - World exploration / exploring the world
We are looking for productions that explore the theme of world exploration.
On the one hand, these could be travel stories. But the idea expressed by J.W. von Goethe, for example — “I turn inward and find a world!” — can also serve as a starting point for exploring the world.
We ask the groups to briefly explain why their submitted project fits the theme of “Exploring the World.”

Über das Festival
02 - Zeitraum
12.8. bis 26.8.2026
Der PuppenSpielSommer gliedert sich in zwei Festivals. In der ersten Festivalwoche PuppenSpielSommer 2026 zeigen wir Kindertheaterprogramme unterschiedlicher Puppenspielformen. In der zweiten Woche erfolgt (die Förderung durch die Stadt Köln vorausgesetzt) die Kasperliade 2026, die sich dem Kasperspiel widmet. Das Kasperspiel wurde 2023 in die UNESCO-Liste des immateriellen Kulturerbes in Deutschland aufgenommen.

PuppenSpielSommer is divided into two festivals. The first week of the festival PuppenSpielSommer 2026 is dedicated to various forms of puppetry for children. In the second week there will be the Kasperliade 2026 (assuming funding from the city of Cologne), which is dedicated to the Kasper game. The Punch and Judy game was added to the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage in Germany in 2023.

Freiluftaufführungen sind immer besondere Herausforderungen!
Das Team des Casssiopeia Theaters unterstützt die auftretenden Künstler auch in technischer Hinsicht. Mit professioneller Beschallungs- und Lichttechnik sorgt das Theaterteam dafür, dass die Gäste den Aufführungen gut folgen können und die Künstler unbeschwert aufteten können.
Technische Eckdaten
Die Open Air-Bühne des PuppenSpielSommers hat eine Spielfläche von 6,8 x 6,3 m (Breite x Tiefe). Die Podesthöhe beträgt 1 m. Die lichte Höhe beträgt 3,4 m. Das Bühnendach befindet sich in einer Höhe von 4,7 m.
Ihre technischen Fragen für die Aufführungen besprechen wir gerne mit Ihnen anhand ihres technical riders. Über die im Rahmen des Festivals zur Verfügung gestellte Technik informieren Sie sich bitte in der nachstehenden Technikliste.

Professional environment
Outdoor performances are always special challenges!
The Cassiopeia Theater team also supports the performing artists from a technical perspective.
The theatre team uses professional lighting and sound technology to ensure that the audience can easily follow the performances and that the artists can perform undisturbed.
Key technical data
The open-air stage of the PuppenSpielSommer has a playing area of 6.8 x 6.3 m (width x depth). The platform height is 1 m. The clear height is 3.4 m. The stage roof is at a height of 4.7 m.
